"Dear Joyce,
....
As you know, I have had arthritis for the last thirty years, and with each year, more joints would become involved. My whole spine hurt .... And then there was Joyce!
....I had to figure each trip to the dentist, doctor’s appointments, shopping mall distances—would I be able to walk that far? A constant dilemma.
Now I don’t. How wonderful!!
...Slowly, I could walk a little further, stand a little longer; the pain was less frequent and I could turn in bed a little better. This all took time; and I was overjoyed! After a while, because it happens so gradually you forget how you were.
My friend and I were walking down the street and she wanted to know why she had to look down at her feet all the time while I looked straight ahead....
How wonderful it is to be able to go from a sitting position, and stand up, without hoisting myself with my hands!

The agony before and during rain or snow is no longer...

How can you love a man you never met? That’s easy. Find a brilliant Feldenkrais practitioner, make an appointment, and you’ll find out.

Oh yes, did I ever tell you Joyce; I’m 88 1/2 years old?

Love,

Lillian"(Read entire letter)

"I've seen improvement in all areas of my son's life. He's climbing on things. He wants to hang on the bars at the playground now..." Mother of preschooler.
"How come you got my son to start crawling in two weeks when others have tried for six months and haven't been able to do it?"
Mother of 15 month old.
"Since you started working with him, he seems calmer and he listens better."
-Mother of 13 year old.
"I haven't had any real pain at all for the past couple of weeks. I feel a difference and it's kind of strange but it's nice. And I can lift my arm up quite a bit more. My fingers are better, not as numb in my right hand."
Ann, 89 years old

"I'm out for a walk right now. First of all thank-you, thank-you, thank-you. I got into the car and it did not hurt to sit. I was able to put both of my feet in without dragging them. ..This has not happened for years and years and years...I walked up stairs...I did not drag my self up the stairs. You have no idea how wonderful it feels to be on both of my feet instead of lunging onto something, leaning onto something all of the time. So thank-you, thank-you.....I yawned on my way back. I haven't been able to yawn without pain for over a year."

"Using the Feldenkrais Method has enabled me to become more aware of my body's strengh and function. As an M.S. patient, I have benefitted greatly from the Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement and Functional Integration instructions. In particular, I am so pleased by my ability to become increasingly balanced, one of my serious deficits. Working with Joyce Ann has been positive and enriching. I look forward to our continued mutual learning."
